What about tomorrow? What does worrying profit us? We all do it, even the most fervent believers. Even though the Bible tells us in many places how worrying does nothing but cause us pain and anxiety. Let’s take a look at what James says about worry.

UNQUALIFIED JUDGE

Who are we to sit in judgement of others. There is already a judge. A pure, honest, loving, gracious, and merciful judge. Let’s take a look at James 4:12 (NIV): “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?”

NEAR TO THE HEART OF GOD

Do we truly realize how much values our relationship to him? So much so, Jesus sacrificed himself for it. Drawing closer to God is our most pressing quest. Let’s talk for a moment about how to do that.

A LETTER FROM JAMES

If we are saved by grace, when why do we need to bother to work by doing good deeds and helping others. What’s in in for me? I already have heaven. What more do I need? As the song goes, “What’s love got to do with it?” WHY WORK? WHENCE COMETH MY WISDOM?

HONESTY IN OUR MOTIVES

Return to Me

“Return to Me” is the message reiterated throughout the Bible. It is a personal message to God’s children and it is a message that grows louder the farther we stray from him. He loves us so much that he provided a way through his son for us always to find our way back.

RIVERS OF JUSTICE

Let’s talk about justice for a few minutes as we engage with this message called: Rivers of Justice. Amos was a wise prophet constantly seeking justice for the less fortunate, a true champian of the underdog. Jesus fought for the underdog as well. How do we example this in our daily lives?

BLOWN BY THE WIND

“Blown By the Wind.” That usually signifies to us that someone is flighty, a free spirit. And, unfortunately, we often have a negative resonse to such people. CONVERSATIONS… THAT NEVER HAPPENED

“Conversations… That Never Happened.” Conversations that we might find in our halls of leadership today where people surround themselves with those who will make them look good, where people are hired and fired based on optics. Every time I hear one of these messages, I just want to shout, “Just like Jesus?” Jesus embraced the […]

PENTECOST

What is Pentecost and why do we celebrate it? Is more than just the birthday of the Christian Church? Did the celebration of Pentecost exist before Peter stepped onto that balcony in Jerusalem to preach to thousands of people? How do we engage with the tongues of fire and the speaking in different languages? All […]

JONAH: MIRROR FOR A CHRISTIAN LIFE

The story of Jonah can be both simple and complicated. While we often teach it to our children, we don’t often dig into the meat that is available for adult Christians. There are so many lessons to be found in this story of disobedience and redemption. The parallels for the path of Christianity are amazingly […]

RELEVANCE

Sometimes, God leads us to ask ourselves the hard questions, and sometimes our lack of faith does the same thing. Is what we believe to be true relevant in the chaotic world around us? Is our belief in God irrelevant to the way we live our lives? Is following Jesus, reading the Bible, seeking validation […]
